Exhibition | Seasons, Tides, & Lunar Cycles
Pivot Gallery, Belconnen Arts Centre
Opening | Friday 6 February 2026, 6pm
Exhibition | 6 February - 22 March 2026
In this series, Totman presents a fresh direction developed from memories of the natural world; an awareness of the influence of environment, weather and the unfathomable depth of galaxy. Always inspired by light and colour, Totman has taken a glance back to recollections of a childhood fascinated by luminous, stained glass panels in church and the velvety darkness of a star-studded night sky. Reliant on repetition of shape and form, these images are essentially abstract. They represent Totman’s symbolic use of the sphere as a natural, organic form and a spiritual icon of the universe. Telescoping as though from an observatory, the spherical form is strongly resonant of the night sky, the light haloes emanating outwards from stars and moon pulsating in a dark space.

MonoPrint with Andrew Totman
Megalo Print Studio
Saturday 14 + Sunday 15 March 2026
10am - 4pm
Join printmaker Andrew Totman for an immersive weekend of monoprinting, where you’ll explore the expressive possibilities of mark-making, texture, and spontaneous image creation.
Across the workshop, you’ll experiment with a range of mono printing techniques including line transfer, stencils, and subtractive methods using mono print plates and a variety of drawing tools. You’ll discover how mono printing allows for rich, layered results that combine elements of painting, drawing, and traditional printmaking into a single, one-of-a-kind image.
You’ll learn how to ink a plate, create both bold and delicate marks, and use masking materials, textures, and hand-drawn elements to develop dynamic prints. The session will also introduce ways of incorporating media such as watercolour and wax resist to expand your visual vocabulary.
